General Pattern of Play
Hard played game up to this point, Bentley had just taken a 19-5 lead.

Detailed Report of Incident
After I had blown a scrum or ruck dead (I forget which) due to a minor infringement, the Middlebury #9 had emerged with the ball and had clearly given up on the play upon hearing my whistle. Coming from the blind side, Bentley #8 came and threw the Middlebury player down by his jersey going down to the ground with him, with a small shoving match ensuing. I had already sin binned a Middlebury player in the first half for a similar action after a whistle, so the yellow card sanction was an easy one to give, regardless of the apology for not having heard the whistle. The player left the field without incident.
