Weather and Field Conditions
Temps in the mid-40s with cloudy skies; no wind; and a mostly well kept pitch (there were some puddles around midfield). Field was a football pitch with the goal posts behind the dead ball line; and the goal line was not very clearly marked although it didn't play a role in the outcome of the match.

General Pattern of Play
Amoskeag were forced to play defense for the overwhelming majority of the match. That combined with their missed tackles and Boston's deft, flat passes made for a miserable day for them.

Detailed Report of Incident
With 18:22 left in the first half and Boston Irish Wolfhounds breaking away for a sure score in the corner of the in-goal, Mr. Wile committed a high tackle against the ball carrier. I signaled the penalty, asked Mr. Wile and the Amoskeag Captain, Alex Gatzoulis to join me under the posts, explained that I would award the penalty try as well as a yellow card to Mr. Wile, and proceeded to do so. Mr. Wile took his sanction very professionally and apologized for the infraction after the match. I explained to him that I didn't feel his high tackle was egregious but that since it stopped a sure score, I was compelled to yellow card him. He stated that he understood.
